Sekhar Kammula is one of the talented directors in the Telugu film industry. Born on February 3, 1972, in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, the brilliant director turns 49 today. The National Film Award-winning filmmaker started his career in 2000 by helming an independent film Dollar Dreams, which was a critical success. Since then, he has been gifting the industry some beautiful hits. As the filmmaker turns a year older today, let's look at the five award-winning movies of Sekhar Kammula to celebrate his birthday!

Anand

Anand is one of the cult classics of the Telugu film industry. Starring Raja and Kamalinee Mukherjee, the film was written and directed by Sekhar Kammula and bankrolled by Sekhar Kammula himself in association with National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). Anand won six Nandi Awards for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actress in Supporting role, Best Child Artiste and Best Female Dubbing Artist. The film will cheer you up for sure.

Godavari

Starring Sumanth and Kamalinee Mukherjee in the lead roles, Godavari is considered as one of the superhit films made in Telugu. Released in 2006, it was directed and produced by Sekhar Kammula under his Amigo Creations banner. The film has won five Nandi Awards for Second Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Music Director, Best Cinematographer and Best Female Playback Singer. This is a movie that leaves you with a warm feeling in your heart every time you watch it!

Happy Days

Happy Days has introduced us to several fresh new faces, who have made their big Tollywood debut. Right from Varun Sandesh, Rahul Haridas, Nikhil Siddharth, Vamsee Krishna and Sonia Deepti to Gayatri Rao and Monali Chowdhary, we have been treated to some newcomers. Released in 2007, the musical coming of age comedy was directed and bankrolled by Sekhar Kammula. The film won three Nandi Awards, six Filmfare Awards and eight CineMAA Awards. Sekhar Kammula proved that he can do wonders even with debutants.

Leader

Tollywood hunk Rana Daggubati made his debut with this Sekhar Kammula directorial which was released in 2010. Sekhar, by touching such a serious topic proved that his directorial skills are not limited to only romantic comedy entertainers. A Nandi Award for Best Story Writer was won by Sekhar Kammula for this film. This movie strayed away from even a single, usual political gag, and therein lies its brilliance. The cast selection was great, the acting even better and the story was refreshing, to say the least.

Fidaa

Fidaa is a 2018 romantic comedy entertainer written and directed by Sekhar Kammula and produced by Dil Raju under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. Starring Varun Tej Konidela and Sai Pallavi, the film was a huge commercial success, making over Rs 50 crore at the box office. Fidaa received many accolades for the direction and excellent performances given by the actors, which helped the film to win four Filmfare Awards and two SIIMA Awards. It also helps that Varun Tej and Sai Pallavi look brilliant together, and Shakthikanth Karthick gave one of the best soundtracks ever.
