Ritu Varma's five best performances

Ritu Varma is one of the most sought-after female actors in the southern film industry. And if there's one actress having acted alongside with the current heartthrobs like Vijay Deverakonda, Nani and Nikhil in Telugu then, it's none other than this Hyderabadi. The actress is quite a known name in Telugu and Tamil film industries, but not many are aware that she isn't a Telugu native. Yes, you heard it right. Ritu was born to Madhya Pradesh residents on March 9 in 1990. She was born and brought up in Hyderabad and holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from Malla Reddy Engineering College. On the occasion of the actress' birthday, take a look at some of her best performances in films.

Yevade Subramanyam

Ritu Varma essayed the role of a business tycoon's daughter Riya in the Nani starrer Yevade Subramanyam. The film marked the directorial debut of Nag Ashwin who later made the brilliant biopic Mahanati. It was said to be the comeback film of Nani as he was starred in a series of failures. Ritu as Riya received appreciation for her impressive portrayal in this coming-of-age comedy-drama, also starring Vijay Devarakonda, Malavika Nair, Krishnam Raju and Kireeti Damaraju. The daughter of Ashwini Dutt, Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt had produced the film under Swapna Cinema banner.

Pelli Choopulu

Vijay Deverakonda's first leading role was in Pelli Choopulu directed by Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam. Ritu Varma was paired alongside Vijay in the film. Ritu Varma was seen as an ambitious girl Chitra in the movie. She wants to achieve something in her life before marriage. She teams up with Vijay to start a mobile canteen which becomes a super-successful. Ritu Varma received Nandi Award for Best Actress and Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress Telugu for her remarkable performance in the film. Raj Kandukuri and Yash Rangineni had bankrolled it under the banner BigBen Cinemas in association with Dharmapatha Creations.

Keshava

Ritu Varma played the role of a Satyabhama, a law college student in the 2017 revenge drama Keshava, starring Nikhil Siddharth. Ritu had lots of scope for performance in this film, and she does exceptionally well, exceeding all expectations. Directed by Sudheer Varma, Keshava is the story of a law student who suffers from rare heart disease, breaks down when his entire family is brutally murdered. He then decided to seek revenge against the perpetrators. The film, which was bankrolled by Abhishek Nama under his home banner Abhishek Pictures, involves a great camera work coupled with appropriate lighting that gives a cinematic tone.

Kanulu Kanulanu Dochayante

Ritu Varma made her debut in Kollywood with this romantic thriller directed by Desingh Periyasamy. She essayed the love interest for Dulquer Salmaan in the film, which is famous for its sizzling chemistry between them. She showed her chirpy side, making the Tamil audience fall for her charm. Her performance was praised by many, and it is undoubtedly one of the most memorable roles played by Ritu Varma in her career. Kanulu Kanulanu Dochayante was produced by Anto Joseph Film Company in association with Viacom18 Motion Pictures.
