Happy Birthday Jayam Ravi: Here are the six Telugu remakes of the ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ actor
It is known that ‘Jayam’ Ravi's father Mohan was a popular editor and producer in Indian Telugu cinema back then. Even before Jayam Ravi made his acting debut as a lead in Tamil movies, he acted as a child artist in the Telugu movies such as ‘Bava Bavamaridi’ and ‘Palnati Pourusham’ which were produced by his father.

‘Jayam’ (2003)
The 2003 Tamil romantic action film is a debut film to not just the director Mohan Raja but to the lead actor Ravi as well, the success of the film made him add the film name as a prefix to his name. The above film is a remake to 2002 Telugu film of the same title.

‘M.Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi’ (2004)
The following year Jayam Ravi acted in sports dramedy film directed again by his brother M.Raja the film is a remake of the 2003 Telugu film ‘Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi’. The film is reported to be one of the most profitable movies of 2004; the film is also marked as the comeback film of actress Nadhiya after a hiatus of 10-15 years from the Industry.

‘Mazhai’ (2005)
The 2005 Tamil romantic action film directed by Rajkumar is a remake of the 2004 Telugu film titled ‘Varsham’ that starred Prabhas in the lead role. Shriya played the female lead opposite Jayam Ravi in the Tamil version, while Devi Sri Prasad composed its music, the film was a super hit at the Kollywood box office.

‘Unakkum Enakkum…Something Something’ (2006)
The above romantic drama film of Jayam Ravi is directed by his brother M.Raja and it is a remake of the Telugu film Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana (2005’. The film stars Trisha reprising her role from the original, while Devisri Prasad composed its music and is also a super hit at the Kollywood box office.

‘Santosh Subramaniam’ (2008)
The 2008 Tamil language romantic comedy film directed by Mohan Raja starred Jayam Ravi, Genelia D’souza, and Prakash Raj. The film is an official remake of the 2006 Telugu film ‘Bommarillu’ directed by Bhaskar. The above film’s music was again composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The film was also commercially successful at the box office.

‘Thillalangadi’ (2010)
Thillalangadi is a 2010 Tamil action comedy film directed by M.Raja again which is a remake of the 2009 Telugu film ‘Kick’ by Surender Reddy. The film starred Prabhu, Suhasini Maniratnam, Vadivelu, and others playing other important roles in the film. However, the film was an average to boring fare at the Tamil box office.
