W hen looking to break into a new industry, choosing the right script is paramount. So, when
Kay Kay Menon was offered the role of a Naval commander in Rana Daggubati-starrer Ghazi, it was the novelty of the script that sealed it for him. Ghazi is not one of those dhan te nan kind of films. Its an underwater submarine saga based on Indo-Pak war in 1971. I play the commander of the ship.
So I couldnt really say no, says
KK Menon.
The actor will be collaborating with Rana for the second time in the movie. Talking about his experience working with the Tollywood hunk, he says, Rana is a very cool chap to work with. We share a good rapport having worked in Baby together. He keeps cracking joking on the sets and is fun to have around. Meanwhile, we hear a huge set was erected in Hyderabad to shoot key portions of the film. Trust me, Ive never seen such kind of a set ever. An actual submarine was created for the film. In fact Sankalp (director of the film) has done such an extensive research that he is an expert on the topic now. Im sure he can run a real submarine, laughs Kay Kay, adding, This film is going to be a novelty for Telugu audience.
