'Game Changer' team reveals why they spent Rs 75 crore on 4 songs featuring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani

Director S Shankar is all set to make a comeback with the political action drama 'Game Changer', starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani. The much-awaited trailer of the movie was unveiled today (January 3), receiving a positive response from fans. Now, the music label that holds the song rights for the movie has taken to their X handle (formerly Twitter) to reveal that the makers have spent Rs 75 crore on four songs for the film.


The social media post by the music label left many puzzled and sparked debates online. The post mentioned that the songs—‘Jaragandi’, ‘Raa Macha Macha’, ‘Naanaa Hyraanaa’, and ‘Dhop’—have all been crafted on a massive scale. Among them, ‘Jaragandi’, choreographed by Prabhu Deva, stands out for featuring 600 dancers on a 70-foot village set. The song was completed over 13 days using eco-friendly costumes made of jute. Meanwhile, Ganesh Acharya’s ‘Raa Macha Macha’ involved 1,000 dancers and paid tribute to India’s folk dance traditions.

‘Naanaa Hyraanaa’, the first Indian song shot with infrared cameras, was filmed in New Zealand, making it another standout. ‘Dhop’, choreographed by Jani Master, included 100 Russian dancers and was wrapped up in eight days.

Fans of Shankar defended the extravagance, with one Reddit user stating, “Shankar has always had extravagant song videos for his movies. 'Jeans' had Aishwarya waltz around the seven wonders of the world. All for a song—it was magnificent.”

However, not everyone agreed. A contrasting opinion suggested, “You can make another whole film with Rs 75 crore. That is such a waste of money, and everything about it is awful.”

'Game Changer' features a stellar cast, including Anjali, Samuthirakani, SJ Suryah, Srikanth, Prakash Raj, and Sunil. The film is scheduled for release in theatres on January 10.
