‘Funky’ release date: Makers shift release plans of Vishak Sen and Kayadu Lohar starrer comedy drama

Telugu actor Vishak Sen will be next seen in the quirky romance drama ‘Funky,’ starring alongside ‘Dragon’ fame Kayadu Lohar. The makers have now changed the film’s release plans. Interestingly, ‘Funky’ was slated to hit the screens this year, eyeing a Christmas release. The team later announced April 3 as the release date. Now the film is slated to release on February 11, 2026.

The makers took to their social media handle, sharing a poster of the film, and they wrote, “Your ticket to a crazy, fun-filled experience with #FUNKY arriving on 13th FEB! Fun for all. Madness for everyone. 100% Entertainment guaranteed.”

About ‘Funky’

The movie is directed by Jathi Ratnali and looks to be a wacky satire take on the film industry. The movie stars Vishwak Sen as Komal, who is playing the role of a film director. On the other hand, Kayadu Lohar, who is marking her Telugu debut with the film, will be playing the role of Chitra, an actress and the daughter of a wealthy producer.

The film’s music is composed by Bheems Ceciroleo.

On the work front, Vishwak Sen was last seen in the Telugu action-comedy 'Laila,' where he played a dual role as Sonu, a barber and aspiring model, and his female disguise, Laila. The movie was released in theaters on February 14th, where it faced a poor reception at the box office. The movie was criticized for its tedious execution and weak comedy, which led to an early OTT release.

On the other hand, Kayadu Lohar was last seen in ‘Dragon’ starring alongside Pradeep Ranganathan and Anupama Parameswaran.
