From Dil to Raja the Great, 9 Blockbuster Movies Rejected by Young Tiger Jr NTR

Young Tiger Jr NTR is one of the most well-established actors in Tollywood currently. He's been acting for over two decades now and has made it huge with a massive fan following. ‘One man's loss is another man's gain’, this quote goes very well for many films that were offered to Jr NTR which he rejected, making someone else a bigger star! Here is a list of movies rejected by Jr NTR!

Dil is that one movie through which Nithiin was launched into the league of Tollywood stars. The role was initially offered to Jr NTR but he rejected it because he thought playing a student again was monotony at that time. Directed by VV Vinayak, the film got praised by the audience for its family-friendly humour quotient.

The most iconic romantic movie of Tollywood is another hit movie rejected by Jr NTR due to some reason. The film which made Allu Arjun an overnight star was initially offered to Jr NTR. The film not only established Allu Arjun as a star, but also fetched him many awards for his iconic performance. Arya could never have been what it is without the Pushpa star.

Boyapati Srinu originally wrote the movie keeping in mind Allu Arjun. After Allu Arjun turned down the role, it went to Jr NTR. But Jr NTR too turned down the offer. After Jr NTR, the role went to Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja. No matter how the movie was, it did turn out to be a hit. Jr NTR and Boyapati Srinu later come together in Dhammu.

This role belonged to Jr NTR in the true sense. Though Nandamuri Kalyanram did a superb job, Jr NTR would've completely nailed this role. Jr NTR recommended Kalyanram’s name after reading the script and Kalyanram eventually ended up doing this role. Athanokkade brought Kalyanram to the limelight like never before.

Jr NTR was offered to play a never-seen-before role in Kick which he rejected and later went on to Ravi Teja. Jr NTR thought it would be a flop as director Surender Reddy delivered back-to-back duds like Ashok and Athidi. The film written and directed by Surender Reddy fetches positive review for the performances by the star cast including Ravi Teja and Iliana.

The role of Krishna was first offered to Jr NTR. However, he rejected the role and it was once again Ravi Teja’s gain. The film not only gained a positive response from the audience but also became the second-highest-grossing films of the year after Pawan Kalyan starrer Jalsa. Any guesses how it would have been with Jr NTR instead of Ravi Teja?

Mahesh Babu’s performance in the film Srimanthudu garnered much appreciation and earned many rewards. Reportedly, director Korala Siva wanted to cast Jr NTR in the lead. It is reported that Jr NTR himself accepted that he rejected Srimanthudu. The film opened to positive critical reception, becoming the third highest-grossing Telugu film of all time.

Director Vamshi Paidipally had announced Oopiri with Akkineni Nagarjuna and Jr NTR. It is believed that there will be a scene where Jr NTR needs to touch the feet of Nagarjuna but Jr NTR was not ready for fame. In fact, he thought that fans of the actor would not love the scene. Obviously, he turned down the project and Karthi replaced Jr NTR in the film.

Director Anil Ravipudi wanted to cast Jr NTR in Raja the Great, but since he didn’t get any response, the film went to Ravi Teja. The Krack actor accepted the offer and Raja the Great became a super hit movie in Ravi Teja’s career. In fact, Ravi Teja made his successful comeback with Raja the Great which got praised for the entertainment quotient.
