After foraying into cinema as a child artist, Malayalam actress Kaveri popularly known by her screen name
Kalyani made inroads into Telugu cinema with Rajasekhar’s 2002 film
Seshu
. In a short span of time, she played the leading lady in a string of big-ticket films like Avunu Valliddaru Ista Paddaru, Vasantam,
Kabaddi Kabaddi
, Dongodu and Pedababu. After getting hitched to director
Surya Kiran in the late 2000s, she shifted her focus towards supporting roles.
Meanwhile,
Kaveri Kalyani
is venturing into
direction
with a Telugu-Tamil bilingual film. Starring
Chethan Cheenu as the protagonist, the psychological thriller will be based on real incidents and the teaser glimpse has been unveiled on the occasion of Holi. Also produced by Kalyani, the film features actors like Siddi, Suhasini Maniratnam, Rohit Murali and Shweta in pivotal roles. The regular shooting is already underway.
After making an impressive debut with Sumanth’s Satyam in 2003, Kalyani’s husband Surya Kiran went on to direct films like Dhana51, Brahmastram and Raju Bhai.
