Finally, Raghavendra Rao’s son Prakash Kovelamudi bags a solid hit with ‘Judgmental Hai Kya’

One of the most anticipated Bollywood films of 2019, ‘Judgmental Hai Kya’ released today to a terrific response from all quarters. Starring Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles, the psychological black-comedy managed to garner both, solid critical acclaim and decent commercial reception on the opening day itself. While Kangana stole the show with her bravura performance, director Prakash Kovelamudi is bagging big applause for pushing the envelope with a quirky thriller that goes beyond the basic realms of a whodunit.
Considering the reviews and public talk, Judgmental Hai Kya is certainly the first superhit for the 44-year-old filmmaker as a director. Interestingly, his wife Kanika Dhillon has written the storyline and screenplay for this film which certainly stays with the viewer after leaving the theatre.
Prakash Kovelamudi happens to be the son of legendary director K Raghavendra Rao. After graduating in IT & Theatre arts from an acclaimed Film Institute in West Hollywood, he made his acting debut with ‘Neetho’ in 2002 and was later seen in ‘Morning Raga’. Realising that his true passion was in direction, Prakash turned into a director with the national-award-winning children’s film ‘Bommalata’. Later, he helmed films like ‘Anaganaga O Dheerudu’ and ‘Size Zero’ which turned out to be duds at the box-office.
