Venkat Ramji’s Adivi Sesh, Regina Cassandra, Naveen Chandra starrer ‘Evaru’ release on Independence Day and has been doing great business since then.
“Happy to announce that #Evaru is the #1 Telugu movie in multiplexes across India :)” (sic) wrote lead actor Adivi Sesh, talking about the film’s business on his social media. The film faced competition from Sudheer Varma’s Sharwanand, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Kajal Aggarwal starrer ‘Ranarangam’ and emerged as the winner with its first weekend collections.The film’s theatrical rights stand at Rs 9.5 Cr and has had an ‘excellent weekend’ according to Track Tollywood. ‘Evaru’ charts the journey of a woman named Sameera, played by Regina Cassandra, who’s charged with murder for killing her alleged rapist, a cop named Ashok, played by Naveen Chandra. A corrupt cop Vikram Vasudev, played by Adivi Sesh, is seeked out by her lawyer to help her case. However, as he delves deeper, Vikram finds the case spiralling into a dark tale filled with unexpected surprises.
