Director Puri Jagannadh and Producer Charmi Kaur both reached the ED office at 8 am and the trial lasted for almost 12 hours.
The ED officials had reportedly found that the money invested in 'Liger' was sent to Dubai first and from there the funds were returned and utilized to make the film. The ED also reportedly suspected the involvement of a popular political leader in the case.
The investigation of ‘Liger’ makers reportedly started after congress leader Bakka Judson lodged a police complaint with the ED couple of months back alleging that the money invested in the film was black and therefore toured and came back as white.
Earlier the above filmmakers' duo was questioned by the ED in 2021 over the Tollywood drugs and money laundering case. Recently, there was also controversy between the Liger distributors and the makers over the failure of the film and they protested in front of Puri's house to pay back their money.
