Drushyam 2: Victory Venkatesh starrer gets a 'U' certificate

Victory Venkatesh’s much-awaited upcoming suspense thriller 'Drushyam 2' has passed the Censor Board of Film Certification with a clean U certificate on September 20.
The makers took to Twitter to break the news. Their tweet is minimalistic as it can get. They just tweeted, ''Censor done! It's a clean U for #Drushyam2.''
'Drushyam 2' is a remake of the Malayalam film 'Drishyam 2' (2021) and a sequel to 'Drushyam' (2014). Jeethu Joseph, who helmed the original, is also directing the remake. It is touted to be a suspense family thriller that has Venkatesh and Meena in the leads roles. The film also has Kruthika, Esther Anil, Sampath Raj, Nadhiya, Naresh, Poorna and Vinay Varma in crucial roles.

'Drushyam 2' is said to be the story of a cinema hall owner, whose family gets entangled in a criminal investigation, he must protect them from the legal institution yet again. Produced by Suresh Productions, Aashirvad Cinemas and Rajkumar Theatres, the film has music by Anup Rubens. The technical crew includes Satheesh Kurupas the cinematographer, and VS Vinayak as the editor. The release date has not yet been revealed.
As reported earlier, several renowned OTT platforms had approached the makers of Drushyam2, offering a digital release for the movie. However, the team decided to wait for the theatres to reopen and confirmed that the Venkatesh starrer will not go the OTT way.
