11th President of India and was popularly known as the ‘People's President’ for his friendly nature to one and all. From 1960 he served as a scientist and science administrator of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The former President died of a cardiac arrest in 2015, at the age of 83.
