Dr APJ Abdul Kalam birth anniversary: Megastar Chiranjeevi pays tribute to Missile Man

Tollywood star Chiranjeevi on Wednesday paid tribute to former President of Indian Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on his 89th birth anniversary. The actor-turned-politician shared a throwback picture of the ‘missile man’ along with him on this Twitter handle.

Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, also known as ''Missile Man of India'' for his contributions towards the development of the country’s missile projects was born on October 15, 1931, at Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu. In 2002, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam became the 11th President of India and was popularly known as the ‘People's President’ for his friendly nature to one and all. From 1960 he served as a scientist and science administrator of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The former President died of a cardiac arrest in 2015, at the age of 83.
