Kannada heartthrob Puneeth Rajkumar has died of a heart attack at the age of 46. He had won a million hearts with his performances in films. He suffered a massive heart attack in the afternoon it is learned. He is survived by his wife and two children. Social media profiles have filled up with lots of condolences messages for the Kannada Power star.
The younger son of veteran Kannada superstar Dr. Rajkumar is also called ‘Appu’ and ‘Powerstar’ dearly by his fans. Award-winning actor as a child artist
Puneeth, who has acted in over 29 films as a lead actor, has appeared in several films as a child actor. Several of his performances as a child were praised by the critics in films like ‘Vasantha Geetha’ 1980, ‘Bhagyavantha’ 1981, ‘Chalisuva Modagalu’ 1982, ‘Eradu Nakshatragalu’ 1983, and several others. He won a National film award for Best Child Artist for the role of Ramu in ‘Bettada Hoovu’. He also has won the Karnataka state award for best child artist for ‘Chalisuva Modagalu and ‘Yeradu Nakshatragalu’.

Highest-Paid Kannada actor & All-rounder
He is not one of the most famous Kannada celebrities but also one of the highest-paid actors of Kannada cinema. The star actor has delivered several commercially successful films such as ‘Appu’ 2002, ‘Abhi’ 2003, and ‘Veera Kannadiga’ 2004, just to name a few. Puneeth has also sung a few songs in his movies despite being known for good dancing and acting skills.

A complete family man
Sandalwood superstar Puneeth Rajkumar has gifted the latest SUV worth Rs 4 crores to his wife on International Women’s Day. Puneeth has reportedly presented this supercar ‘Lamborghini Urus’ to his wife Ashwini. Puneeth, who owns Ranger Rover, Nissan, and GTR among others, added one more car by gifting it to his dear wife. No actor in Karnataka or even in other film industries may have done this to their wives!

Most of his films were produced by his mother
Parvathamma Rajkumar, the wife of veteran Kannada actor Dr. Rajkumar and mother to power star Puneeth Raj Kumar, has produced several of his movies. She is the one, who is behind the scripts of several commercially successful films. Films like ‘Appu’, ‘Jackie’, ‘Anna Bond’, ‘Arasu’, ‘Abhi’ were picked by Parvathamma Rajkumar for his son.

Many of his hit films were remade in other Languages
Ravi Teja’s superhit Telugu film ‘Idiot’ is a Telugu remake of Puneeth Rajkumar’s 2002 film ‘Appu’. ‘Abhimanyu’ (2003) is a Telugu rom-com starring Nandamuri Kalyan Ram and Ramya is a remake of Puneeth Rajkumar’s superhit Kannada film ‘Abhi’. Still several of his movies are also remade in Odia and other languages.

A philanthropist who does several charities in silence
Puneeth has been involved in several philanthropic works along with his mother at the Shakti Dhama Ashram in Mysore. He is not just an actor who kicks villains in his movies but a real star, who intended to increase human well-being. Puneet reportedly has 26 orphanages, 15 free schools, 16 old age homes, 19 Goshalas for all who are below poverty. He even donated his eyes post his death to support the cause, half of his income goes into hundreds of charities in silence.
