K Raghavendra Rao is a man who has earned a rare honour as a director in Tollywood. He last directed the film titled Om Namo Venkatesaya, starring Akkineni Nagarjuna. Raghavendra Rao, who has made films with an unstoppable success rate as a director for hundreds of films, is always behind the screen and does not come in front of the camera.
Late legendary director Dasari Narayana Rao has also made his mark as an actor while working as a director.
However, Raghavendra Rao was never interested in appearing on the screen. Although he occasionally appeared in guest roles, the director did not do the full-length roles. But for the first time, the director is trying to come out of his comfort zone to play a character in a film.
Raghavendra Rao, who is currently away from direction, is all set to play a main lead in a film which will be directed by
Tanikella Bharani. It is learned that the story discussions have already been completed and Raghavendra Rao has given his nod to star in the film. It seems that the character was going to be up to the level of Raghavendra Rao. His role will reportedly be the similar lines in the films like
Pink, Cheeni Kum and Black essayed by
Amitabh Bachchan. The upcoming film will go on floors early next year.
