There have been persistent rumors suggesting that 'Salaar' might actually be a remake of the Kannada film 'Ugramm,' directed by Prashanth Neel in 2014, which was subsequently remade in Odia and Marathi. Now, the speculation about whether 'Salaar' is a remake of 'Ugramm' or not is buzzing in the air and getting stronger.

In an interview with composer Ravi Basrur, he was asked about the possibility of 'Salaar' being a remake of 'Ugramm,' and he said, ‘Everyone knows that. But, no matter how he does it, we should wait and see.’ Checking this statement, it's unclear whether this interview is recent or an older one.

In response to these rumors, Prashanth Neel, the director of both 'Ugramm' and 'Salaar,' has been addressing questions from the media. In an older interview, he clarified that while his filmmaking style might include some elements reminiscent of 'Ugramm,' 'Salaar' is a fresh story and not a remake or adaptation of 'Ugramm.'

Despite the teasers and posters suggesting a connection to the 'KGF' franchise, Prashanth Neel hasn't provided any further clarification on the matter. So, whether 'Salaar' is related to 'Ugramm' or not remains a mystery for now.

There were also rumors that 'Ugramm' had been taken down from YouTube, but you can still find the film there, including its Hindi-dubbed version on other leading streaming platforms.

As soon as Prabhas' much-anticipated movie, 'Salaar,' is scheduled for a grand release on December 22 in multiple languages, it's set to clash with Shah Rukh Khan's film, 'Dunki,' at the box office.

'Salaar' was supposed to release on September 28, but the makers decided to postpone it to fine-tune the post-production work.
