Dhanush and Sekhar Kammula's film to be a period drama set in Madras?

As per the reports, Dhanush will be making a Pan Indian film under the direction of Sekhar Kammula, who is known for making classic love stories in

Telugu

cinema. Now, according to the latest reports, the film is going to be a ‘period drama’ set in ‘Madras’.It is for this reason that Sekhar Kammula first approached ‘Dhanush’ for this film. The film unit hopes to start its regular shoot from December this year.

The script work and pre-production part of the film is reported to be completed, and the film is being bankrolled by

Narayanadas Narang

and Puskur Rammohan Rao.

After his new film announcement with Dhanush, everyone was eager to know the subject that the director is going to make the film with the versatile Tamil actor and it was one of the most gossiped about topics in Tollywood circles. Initially, it was rumored that Sekhar Kammula is making a love story or a romantic genre film with Dhanush which was then rumored to be a political drama.

Sekhar Kammula is currently busy with his ‘Love Story’ starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi', produced by his own production house 'Amigos Creations' in association with 'Sree Venkateswara Cinemas'. The film has completed its post-production part and is ready to release.

Originally, the film was scheduled to release on 2 April 2020, but due to the lockdown, the makers announced a new date for the release on '16 April 2021' along with its dubbed versions of Kannada and Malayalam languages. Once again the film’s release has been put on hold due to the theaters' situation in Andhra Pradesh.
