‘Devineni’: Devineni Nehru’s biopic launched on a grand scale

After a long hiatus, Taraka Ratna Nandamuri on a roll. But this time he has been roped in to reprise the role of late political leader and the former MLA of Kankipadu Assembly Constituency Devineni Nehru. The film, titled ‘Devineni’, has been produced by Ramu Rathod under RTR Films banner. Narra Siva Nageswara Rao, who has previously helmed ‘Shiva Nagu’, will wield the megaphone for this biopic. Yesteryear actress Jamuna who was one of the top actresses during 1954 to 1974, is playing a crucial role in the film. Producer C Kalyan, actress Jamuna and Vinayaka Rao are the chief guests and made their presence felt at the launch event. The makers have full faith that an inspirational film will be made about a common man, who became an organiser and a leader. The regular shooting of the biopic will begin in May 10, and the release will be over the next few months, sources said. Apart from Taraka Ratna and Jamuna, no other actor has been named in the cast. The biopic appears to be aiming for as wide a film-going public as possible.
