Devadas review highlights: An entertaining fare
An overeager doctor, a dreaded gangster and a trigger happy cop are at the forefront of Sriram Adittya’s latest comic caper Devadas.
Handling multi-starrers is never easy, let alone a comedy. The director, however, gets it right so far with Devadas. With some great dialogues (the film has endless quips and wisecracks), Sriram Adittya has got a winner on his hands, well, at least by the looks of the first half.
1x1 polls
The humour is spot on, backed by solid performances from Nani and Nagarjuna.
Deva (Nagarjuna) is a dreaded gangster who’s wanted by police. While on the run, he runs into clinic of Dr Das (Nani), an over eager doctor who never tires of telling people that he’s a gold medalist. In strange circumstances, the two of them become friends, but Das soon finds out that being friends with a dreaded don is not as easy as it seems.
Nani is in top form and gives you plenty of clap-worthy moments with some cracking humour. The first half, though a tad bit long, is thoroughly entertaining. Let’s hope the second half works just as well.
