Denikaina Ready at fault: HC
Justice Nagarjuna Reddys Bench pronounced the final judgment on the film, Denikaina Ready on Friday. The movie has been embroiled in controversy ever since its release in July, 2012, for allegedly hurting the sentiments of the Brahmin community. The Bench even objected to two scenes and asked the producer of the film to delete them.
The Bench cautioned Tollywood filmmakers and the Regional Censor Board to be more careful while handling sensitive topics and ensure that movies dont cause inconvenience to others or hurt the sentiments of any sect of society. The Bench added that the filmmakers have to be more aware of the present societal circumstances and exercise caution while planning their movies and not hurt communities in the name of comedy. The Bench also passed strong comments on the workings of the Regional Censor Board and how there is a need to censor potentially sensitive issues in films.
Meanwhile, Dronamraju Ravi Kumar from the AP Brahmana Seva Sanga Samakhya, the organisation which protested against the movie, says, The fight is not over. There are certain criminal cases pending against Mohan Babu and others associated with the film. We will approach the police and demand that action be taken, in lieu of this verdict.
