Before the ‘Baahubali’ feast,
Prabhas made waves with his romance-comedy film, ‘Darling’, which ultimately got him his Darling nickname. On the occasion of the film completing 16 years from its initial release, the movie came back to theatres in 4K and fans rushed to watch it again. Even after so many years, people are enjoying it like a new film.
Massive day 1 collections for the re-release
The re-release started in a very big way. On Day 1, ‘Darling 4K’ collected Rs 7.59 crore worldwide as per Sacnilk. This is a huge number for a re-release, as two make a certain comparison, it has become the second-highest opening day for a Telugu re-release, following only the record set by ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’. It clearly shows how strong Prabhas’ craze is. Even today, his films can pull big crowds and big money.
From early morning shows, theatres were full. Fans came with cutouts, drums, and even fireworks. Many people treated it like a festival. The energy inside the cinema halls was very high. It felt like a brand-new big release. This shows that old films of Prabhas still have the same magic.
Fans share love on social media
Fans are posting videos, photos, and messages on the internet. A fan on X formerly Twitter wrote, “God!!!!! Just look at them (Red heard emoji) Nizam King & Queen on Screen.” Another added, “‘PRABHAS’ THE RECORD-SMASHER IS BACK… #Darling4K TAKES A SOLID START AT THE BOX-OFFICE… EMERGES AS ONE OF THE BIGGEST RE-RELEASE OPENERS… CELEBRATIONS AND FIREWORKS FOR A NON-BIRTHDAY RELEASE… PHENOMENAL….” meanwhile another added, “One of the best experiences ever… #Darling.”
