Not many know that SS Rajamouli’s elder brother Shivasri Kanchi who happens to be an actor-cum-writer, kick-started his directorial debut ‘Showtime’ a few years ago. As it ran into financial woes, the film was shelved midway. But the female lead in this ambitious project is making the right moves to become the next big thing in South cinema. She is none other than Rukshar Dhillon, the cute Indian actress born in the Ealing Borough of London. After romancing ‘Natural Star’ Nani in ‘Krishnarjuna Yudham’, the talented cutie is gearing up for her third Telugu release titled ABCD.

Starring Allu Sirish as the protagonist, the trailer of this comedy-drama has just been dropped to a positive response from the netizens. Considered as the official remake of 2013 Malayalam flick ‘ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi’, the hilarious entertainer portrays Rukshar in the pivotal role of Neha. The 25-year-old model-cum-actress was born in the Ealing Borough of London to Punjabi parents. Within a few months, she moved to Goa and spent almost 13 years of her initial life in the tourists’ paradise. Finally, she travelled to Bengaluru and completed her high school & college in the garden city. After obtaining a Degree in Fashion Designing, Rukshar decided to try her luck in the showbiz world and started off her tenure as a model. She walked the ramp for popular designers and featured in several TV & print commercials.

During the early half of 2016, Rukshar Dhillon grabbed her debut opportunity on the silver screen with the Kannada action-thriller ‘Run Anthony’ opposite Vinay Rajkumar. Playing the role of a suicide bomber, the beautiful diva showcased some solid emoting skills and managed to strike the right chord with the audience. She pinned big hopes on writer-turned-director SS Kanchi’s ‘Showtime’ and even thanked Keeravani & Rajamouli for their support and encouragement while filming. Despite her second outing ‘Aakatayi’ failed to connect with the viewers, Rukshar Dhillon believed that the large-scale promotions of this small-budget film aided her to get noticed by Telugu filmmakers and industry people. After checking out several aspiring actresses and models, director Merlapaka Gandhi zeroed in on the glamourous girl to play the second female lead opposite Nani in ‘Krishnarjuna Yudham’. She delivered a sparkling performance as the city-bred girl Riya and looked adorable throughout the film. The convincing show brought her ABCD opposite Allu Sirish.

After sweating it out for nearly four years, Rukshar Dhillon has finally earned her maiden Bollywood film ‘Bhangra Paa Le’. Starring Sunny Kaushal, brother of actor Vicky Kaushal as the protagonist, the comedy-drama is directed by debutant Sneha Taurani and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The cute bombshell is a popular celebrity on social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram who doesn’t disappoint her followers when it comes to sharing drool-worthy snaps clicked during scorching photo-shoots and foreign holidays.

Last year, the grapevine is abuzz with rumours of Rukshar Dhillon dating Indian cricketer KL Rahul. Giving a clarification on the unwanted controversy, the young actress cleared the air by saying that they were just good friends. “I’ve known him for the past six years – even before he became famous and even before I got into acting, but no one talked about it as no one knew us! We all have a group of common friends and recently attended cricketer Karan Singhvi’s engagement – that’s when we were spotted together,” she concluded.
