'Coolie' set for theatrical release on THIS date; Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna's fans kick off countdown

The release date of 'Coolie', starring Superstar Rajinikanth has been confirmed and fans can't keep calm. In an official statement, it was announced that the film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj will have its theatrical release on August 14.

To celebrate the announcement, a special audio-visual was released, featuring Rajinikanth's look in the film and a scene with Nagarjuna that saw him blowing a whistle.

Star-Studded cast
In the film, Nagarjuna reportedly plays a special role with Shruti Haasan and Pooja Hegde as the female leads. Early glimpses of the film have already sparked great excitement and received a positive response.


Official release date
'Coolie' was officially announced in September 2023 under the tentative title Thalaivar 171, as it marked Rajinikanth's 171st film. The official title was revealed in April 2024.

Coolie Teaser
Before announcing the release date, the makers dropped a teaser in which fans were quick to spot Rajinikanth recreating his legendary sunset scene from his all-time hit, Thalapathi. Several videos comparing the two iconic moments have since gone viral on social media.
