Chiranjeevi starrer 'Vishwambhara' rumored to release on THIS date: Buzz

Chiranjeevi's upcoming film 'Vishwambhara' is a mega-socio fantasy film directed by Mallidi Vassishta. The movie was announced to release during the Sankranti 2025 window and has been facing multiple delays. Recent reports suggest the film might hit the silver screens on a special day of the megastar.

As per a 123Telugu report, 'Vishwambhara' might now be released on August 22, 2025, coinciding with Chiranjeevi’s birthday. Initially slated for release during Sankranti 2025, it has faced multiple delays. The film was postponed to accommodate Ram Charan's 'Game Changer,' which unfortunately did not fare well at the box office.

One of the significant reasons for the delay is the poor reception of the film's teaser, which was heavily criticized for its subpar visual effects. Following this feedback, Chiranjeevi insisted that the team rework the VFX to ensure a better cinematic experience. To achieve this, the makers have outsourced the visual effects work to the team behind 'Avatar.'.

The film’s production has been extensive, with elaborate sets and a significant portion of the narrative relying on visual effects. Thirteen distinct sets were erected in Hyderabad's Annapurna Studios. Despite these efforts, the film still lacks an OTT deal, reportedly due to concerns over the quality of the CGI.

The teaser for 'Vishwambhara' was released on Dussehra 2024, where Chiranjeevi was seen in a heroic role, riding a winged horse and wielding a mace against mythical villains. The film is expected to be an adventure thriller across the realms of gods, humans, and the underworld.

'Vishwambhara' also features Trisha Krishnan, Kunal Kapoor, Ashika Ranganath, Ramya Pasupuleti, Isha Chawla, and Surbhi.

The music is composed by the renowned M.M. Keeravani.
