'Acharya' became the biggest disaster in megastar
Chiranjeevi's career. Director Koratala Siva was criticized for making such a big flop. Things took an ugly turn when a group of Ceded exhibitors protested against Koratala Siva for the loss.
As per available information, a group of exhibitors who have lost money by buying the film are demanding Koratala Siva to compensate them for the loss.
They have been protesting outside of Koratala’s office since last night saying that they have lost Rs.15 crores due to this film and are demanding the compensation for the losses of their investment.
When asked why they are demanding Koratala Siva for money, they reportedly revealed that Koratala Siva himself took the film from the producers and sold it to the buyers. The exhibitors are also warning that they will hold a dharna outside of Chiranjeevi's house, if they don’t get compensated. The news has been speeded like a wildfire on social media since this morning. However, there is no official information or announcement regarding the same.
According to trade reports, made on a reported budget of Rs 140 crore, the audience response to Acharya is so poor, grossing over Rs 76 crore the box office worldwide. The film is now amongst the all-time biggest disasters of Telugu cinema. The film also starred
Ram Charan, Pooja Hegde, Sonu Sood, Jisshu Sengupta, Kishore, Saurav Lokesh, Nassar, Ajay, Tanikella Bharani, Vennela Kishore and others in pivotal roles. The technical crew of Acharya includes Mani Sharma for music, S Thirunavukarasu for cinematography and Navin Nooli for editing.
