Chinmayi Sripada stands with Samantha Ruth Prabhu against online trolls

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu was recently called a ‘second hand item’ on social media and netizens were taken in by her response to the troll, replying, “God bless your soul. (sic)” which went viral on social media.
Her friend, singer Chinmayi Sripada also stood up for her in solidarity, penning a long and emotional note. Detailing on the level of harassment women in the entertainment industry go through, she wrote, “Women go through a ton of harassment on a daily basis.As a lived reality. Tons of songs glorifying hitting women/women being dark-hearted, body shamed, some even euphemistically speak about 'if her heart is big she must come from this part of India', glorifying devdas culture, blaming women for quitting problematic boyfriends who are shown as toxic, stalking, scenes justifying domestic violence over decades, acid attacks, sexual violence - when we question that content, we get abused. The abuse actresses go through on social media is unimaginable. (sic)”

She further added that she stands by her friend and lauds her for handling everything with immense strength, adding, “Despite the abuse that comes her way, and it has been relentless, Sam remains classy. And that's why she Da Queen. Oh BTW - she gonna go from strength to strength. Like many of her fans, I too will celebrate her wins. (sic)” Samantha and Naga Chaitanya announced their separation in October this year and since then the actress has faced abuse from many misogynistic trolls on social media. They had gotten married in 2017 after dating each other for years before that.
