Acting wasn't a career 'plan' for Chandini Chowdary, a Mechanical Engineer who wanted to pursue an MBA. With a love for writing and a wish to publish a book some day, an unexpected opportunity to act in a short film, is what changed the game for her. 'I have always loved films, but being a shy person who feels awkward amongst lot of people, this wasn't an obvious choice for me.

I was studying in Intermediate when a friend told me about a team making a short film who were in search of an actress. In no time, with family's permission, I was in,' shares the actress.
While the Vizag girl moved to Bangalore for her graduation, she used her holiday breaks to be a part of films. 'Whenever I returned, I would do a short film. It didn't really share my work with anyone on social media, but surprisingly, the films went viral and I got recognition,' Chandini says, adding that as a result, she started receiving offers in several films.
'But my family insisted that I complete my education before I take up anything full time. I was getting several offers and some of the movies I rejected went on to become successful too. As I let go of many offers, many stopped approchaing me, and I began to think it was a loss for me,' she recalls.
But with two interesting films in the pipeline ' Kundanapu Bomma and Ketugadu, the former a directorial of Vara Mullapudi, son of the legendary Venkatramana Mullapudi ' Chandini is on cloud nine! 'It feels surreal, actually! There is nothing else I want to do now,' she states.
