Sonu Sood has been making the headlines in recent months with his humanitarian deeds. On Sunday, the 46-year-old who has helped thousands of migrant workers reach home during the COVID-19 related lockdown has tweeted that he would be sending a tractor to tomato farmer Nageswara Rao in Chittoor district of
Andhra Pradesh after a video of the latter went viral on social media.
In the heartbreaking clip, the farmer can be seen ploughing the land with his two daughters carrying the yoke on their shoulders.
Staying true to his words, Sonu Sood’s team delivered a new tractor to the elated farmer at his Mahalrajupalle village on Sunday night. Initially, the Bollywood actor promised a pair of Ox to the farmer, but later said that the hardworking family deserved a tractor. Sharing the concerned clip on his Twitter, Sonu wrote “This family doesn’t deserve a pair of ox .. They deserve a Tractor. So sending you one. By evening a tractor will be ploughing your fields Stay blessed @Karan_Gilhotra #sonalikatractors”
Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu who belongs to the Chittoor district praised Sonu Sood for his generous gesture and came forward to take care of the education expenses of the farmer’s two daughters. He wrote on his social handle “Spoke with @SonuSood ji & applauded him for his inspiring effort to send a tractor to Nageswara Rao’s family in Chittoor District. Moved by the plight of the family, I have decided to take care of the education of the two daughters and help them pursue their dreams”
Besides politicians, several Tollywood celebrities and commoners praised the humanitarian efforts of Sonu Sood and termed him as ‘Superman Sonu’. In his most recent efforts, the actor has been arranging charter flights for over 1,500 Indian students stranded in Kyrgyzstan.
