Before turning into a director,
Venkatesh Maha has helmed several short films and worked in different capacities in the film & television industry — from a spot boy to production manager and co-director. Thanks to NRI producer Praveena Paruchuri, the young filmmaker roused to fame with the critically acclaimed independent flick C/O Kancharapalem. The slice-of-life film took the viewers beyond the accustomed cinematic settings to get familiarised with the sights, sound and lives of people living in a suburb of Visakhapatnam city called Kancharapalem.
Despite emerging as the poster boy of independent Telugu cinema, Venkatesh Maha took his time before kicking-off his second directorial. According to reports, the talented personality has teamed up with ‘Baahubali’ producers
Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni for a concept-oriented commercial cinema. Sources claim that national award-winning cinematographer
Appu Prabhakar has been roped in for the film.
Starring happening hero Sathya Dev as the protagonist, the untitled project has reportedly wrapped up its shoot and the young team is busy with the patchwork and post-production formalities. An official confirmation regarding the collaboration is expected from the makers soon.
