Brahmanandam participates in Haritha Haram
Haritha Haram
is an initiative started by the Chief Minister of Telangana in 2015 to increase the plant cover in the state by 33%.Actor Prabhas
was the first to join the ranks by planting saplings at his farmhouse in Hyderabad in the presence of TRS MP Santosh Kumar. Many actors and Tollywood biggies took it up after him. Latest to take part in the campaign was comedian and Padma Shri awardee Brahmanandam. He planted saplings in his backyard in a bid to urge his fans to do the same. He accepted the Green India Challenge because he wanted to spread awareness about the importance of planting trees. Before the Dookudu actor took up this initiative, many from the industry had taken it up. Adivi Sesh, Subbaraj, Vishwak Sen and anchor Harika too were seen doing their bit to increase the green cover of the state to Telangana. Even athletes from Telangana took up this noble initiative. Former cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin and ace shuttler Saina Nehwal took steps to take the Haritha Haram forward. Celebrities coming forward enthusiastically to take part in such initiatives helps them to reach a wider audience who may replicate their behaviour. So it is surely good news for the initiative that so many well-known faces have come forward and taken it up.
