Entrepreneur GK Vikas eagerly anticipates his debut as an actor with the upcoming Telugu film Darshini.
Vikas attributes his foray into the
film industry to chance and acknowledges the encouragement of his friends.
Opening up about his career switch, he says, “When the director of the film, Pradeep, told me that he was working on a film, I decided to help him with casting.
During that process, one of the assistant directors thought I would be perfect for the role! Although I wasn’t confident initially, I went through a screen test and came on board.”
Vikas says the filming experience was enriching due to his familiarity with the director Pradeep and producer LV Suryam’s working style from their previous collaboration on short films. “During Covid-19, we connected on the idea that life has to be more than a mere 9-5 job and that’s how the idea of Darshini was born. I joined the team because I saw a passion in their eyes; they left their well-earning jobs and put their blood and sweat into making this film. I wanted to be a part of that,” he says.
The film is a thriller with a hint of horror and is set to release on May 17. “The film isn’t solely driven by a hero but by character dynamics,” shares Vikas.
