Brahmanandam: Tracing the journey of the popular comedian in Tollywood so far

While there are plenty of comedians in the entertainment industry, there are very few of them who have made a lasting impact and have had a long career because of their creativity and continued relevance. The comedian we are talking about has had a long, distinguished career and can be considered comedy royalty. He is none other than Brahmanandam. Born to Kanneganti Nagalingachari and Kanneganti Lakshmi Narsamma on February 1, Brahmanandam is an incredibly funny man and has made a name for himself as a comedy king and then moved on to become one of the most well-known comedians in Tollywood.

Telugu lecturer to Guinness World Record holder

After completing his studies, he started his career as a Telugu lecturer in Attili, West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh. After a few years, he found himself on the way to films. He makes people of all age, laugh their hearts out which has earned him a huge paycheck for each film he does. His ability to draw in crowds have kept him where he is today, on the top. He created Guinness World Record for the most screen credits for a living actor. He was also awarded the title of Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award for his contributions to art.

When he first burst on the silver screen

Brahmanandam is one actor whose comedy acts can be enjoyed by the entire family as there is little or no swearing. Since he first debuted on the silver screen with ‘Aha Naa Pellanta’, he was given more and more screen time. There has been no stopping him ever since. This also helped raise his profile in Tollywood, leading to some key roles shortly after. Brahmi got much of his initial popularity due to this film.

The stellar film career of the comedy king

If we were to make a list of some of his good movies, then the list will be quite long. He can turn anything that can be injected with humour into gold, and this ability has transcended into a stellar film career, which includes box-office hits like ‘Anjaneyulu’, ‘Dhee’, ‘Vikramarkudu’, ‘Athadu’, ‘Pokiri’, ‘Ready’, ‘Loukyam’, ‘Power’, ‘Balupu’, ‘Race Gurram’ and many more to his credit. He has starred in some classics including ‘Ahana Pellanta’, ‘Vivaaha Bhojanambu’, ‘Hai Hai Nayaka’, ‘Jayammu Nischayammu Raa’, ‘Chevilo Puvvu’, ‘Jagadeka Veerudu Atiloka Sundari’, ‘Bobbili Raja’, ‘Raja Vikramarka’ to name a few.

5/6

The one and only comedian who can deliver an intelligent humour

Brahmanandam is undoubtedly one of the finest comedians who has ever performed onscreen. His natural talent and brilliant outlook made him a smash success. What is really remarkable about his career is his comedy timing. He received a great deal of praise from viewers and critics alike during his over three-decade film career. He would take a humour, wry, sarcastic look at the little details of every scene he appears. Nowadays, most young aspiring comedians do this at least an extent but Brahmi is the one who really pioneered this. If intelligent humour enjoyable to you, you’ll love Brahmi’s comedy.

6/6

One of the best Tollywood comedians of all time

He has made his mark in nearly every film he has acted. This might be the reason he is considered as one of the best Tollywood comedians of all time. In spite of his acting ability, nobody can deny his talent for comedy. Brahmanandam starred alongside A-list actors like Mega Star Chiranjeevi, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Daggubati Venkatesh, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Dr Rajasekhar, Rajendra Prasad, Mohan Babu, Ravi Teja, Ram Charan, etc. Truth be told, he is still acting in films and, is giving a tough completion to the young and aspiring comedians.

To date, Brahmanandam has acted in more than 1,000 films. Fans of Brahmi will find it hard to select which of these are the best since each movie portrays distinctive characters that only Brahmi can put on life onscreen.

Happy Birthday Brahmanandam and continue to floor us all with your slap-sticks and amazing comic timing.
