Actor
Bhanuchander made a few interesting comments about the quality of directors in the film industry. “There are very few quality directors nowadays. I’ve watched Trivikram’s
Athadu
and Puri Jagan’s Pokiri which are beautifully made commercial films. At the same time, I’ve watched two other films made by Trivikram which can only be termed as bulls**t. I wouldn’t like to name those films as I don’t want to offend anyone.
But my point is, how can someone who gave us a classic like
Athadu
which will be appreciated even 10 years down the line come up with the other works?,” said Bhanuchander. He further added that many directors nowadays lacked the requisite experience and skill set. “One assistant director sounds the ‘clap’ for a film today and is directing a film the next day,” remarked the
Nireekshana
star. He said the absence of legendary directors like Balu Mahendra and K Viswanath is felt all the more.
