'Bhale Manchi Chowka Beram' review highlights: A timepass ride
Marketed as a madcap comedy, 'Bhale Manchi Chowka Beram' is a Murali Krishna Mudidani directorial, with the concept developed by director Maruthi and music by Hari Gowra.
Starring Naveed, Kerintha Nookaraju and Yamini Bhaskar in lead roles, the film charts the journey of a retired army major and two struggling middle class men.
Ex-army major Yakub Khan (Raja Ravindran) pens down his 30 years of experience in a folder oh-so-obviously named Desa Rahasyalu. But when courier boy Saleem (Nookaraju) and his roommate, cab driver Parthu (Naveed) come to posses the folder by chance, they believe it to be something more than it is. Their plan now is to sell what they perceive to be state secrets to Pakistan and make some quick buck.
The first half of the film is a fun ride when the content of the film is not taken too seriously. The way it is made, the filmmakers don't intend it to be either. While not all the jokes that are supposed to make you laugh land, the film so far hasn't been boring either. The characterisations of both the protagonists Parthu and Saleem are entertaining, especially the latter making one crack up at inappropriate times.
Devoid of the usual commercial elements for most part, 'Bhale Manchi

Beram' is a refreshing ride so far. But will the protagonists' fate truly change like they believe it will is something that needs to be seen in the second half. Yamini's character Adarshi, Parthu's kind hearted girlfriend, seemingly exists for the sake of it in the film so far. It remains to be seen if that changes too.end of article
