Nageswara Rao is known for his intelligent ways of escaping from the police and at times from the prison too. It is reported that he once escaped from the Chennai jail since then he was known as ‘Tiger’ who was finally shot dead in 1987 by the police. It is reported that his photo still hangs at the main door of his house in Stuartpuram for tourists to visit.
The makers reportedly said that Tiger Nageswara Rao’s life story is a perfect material for cinema and B.Sreenivas is an apt choice for the above subject with the perfect title ‘Stuartpuram Donga’ on the most wanted thief of AP.
The film is said to be made on a large scale and the film sees the Vennalakanti brothers as writers as it is a story set in the mid-’70s.
