Being away from my wife Vini and kids during this crisis is excruciating: Vishnu
Staying away from your family is never easy. But living under home quarantine in time of coronavirus pandemic while your wife and kids are in another continent, can be agonising. Vishnu Manchu has been doing just that since March 7 and he’s devastated to say the least. The actor, who is currently locked down with his parents in their Gachibowli residence, is sorely missing wife Viranica and children Ariaana, Viviaana, Avraam and Arya Vidya.

“One of our family members who lives abroad, was diagnosed with stage-four cancer in the end of February, so all of us went to meet them. However, because my father’s (Mohan Babu) birthday is on March 19, I headed back home on March 7 soon after the surgery took place, while Vini and the kids stayed back,” shares Vishnu.
Admittedly, “Vini and the kids were supposed to come home soon after” but everything changed when the lockdown was imposed. “Being away from your family during a crisis is like hell. We tried to pull some strings and bring them back home on a private jet but nothing worked. All doors shut on us in no time,” rues Vishnu. Vishnu refuses to reveal which country his family is in right now and says it’s for ‘security reasons’. “It’s a safe country but it’s very unsettling to know that they’re out there all on their own. I video call them every day but not being able to assure the kids that everything will be fine in person is scary. I constantly worry about them and even have trouble sleeping at night,”shares the Mosagallu star, his voice trembling with emotion.

Vishnu urges those who are in a similar situation to stay strong and not find ways to break quarantine. “People are stuck in different parts of the world, some of them don’t even have a roof over their heads. Self-restrain and self-discipline is the need of the hour. We all need to be extra careful if we want to return to any semblance of normalcy soon and while we don’t need to panic, we definitely need to take it seriously. I pray for strength for every one of us,” he says, signing off.
