Vijay on Bollywood Vs South films debate

Vijay Deverakonda weighed in on the ongoing topic. Whilst keeping a neutral stance, the 'Liger' star gave a strong response to folks who critically analyse the success and failures of both the industry and pit them against each other. He said that people need a topic to talk about and write about. He is so happy for South Indian film industry making good films. He also said that now there is a trend going on. After this trend, there will be another trend. Nothing is permanent. So much depends on the audience. They get bored at some point. There is nothing we can do about it. Over 200 South movies were released in four months, but only four movies did well at the box office.

Vijay on his struggling days

Vijay opened up about the mental agony and the feeling of hopelessness he went through, while he was trying to make a career as an actor in the film industry. He thought that the producers would stand in the queue after his theatre was finished. But nothing of the sort happened. For opportunities, he didn’t even know where to go, whom to talk to. After playing a supporting role in a film, he said there was no work for a year. He also said that he got a second chance because of an assistant director. Even though he played the second lead role the film, which was even a hit, he didn’t get any opportunities. Vijay said he decided to do something big, and with the help of his friends he invested some amount and starred in a film called 'Pelli Choopulu', which not only turned out to be a big hit but also received a National Film Award. Then, he starred in 'Arjun Reddy', which was a turning point in his career.

Vijay reacts to boycott calls for 'Liger'

Responding to boycott calls of 'Liger', Vijay said, ''We started shooting for 'Liger' three years back. There were no controversies. 'Liger' needs to be presented India wide, and we couldn't find a better option than Karan sir. He showed 'Baahubali' all over India, and has shown us a path. North is an area that we don't know about. When we approached him for 'Liger', he welcomed us warmly and took the promotions of the film to next level. He is the reason why 'Liger' has a wide reach all over India.

Vijay replies to trolls

Shutting down trolls, Vijay said, ''We don't really know what trollers want. We’re perfect. I was born in Hyderabad. Charmme Kaur was born in Punjab. Puri Jagannadh sir was born in Narsipatnam. We worked hard for three years and made the film. Don’t we deserve to release the film? Wherever we go, the response has been amazing. I feel that when we are correct and when we fulfil our responsibility, we don't listen to anyone's words, and we fight whoever confronts us. I have no fear, and I know that. We’ve done it with all our heart. We are all from this country. We know how much we do our people and our country. We are always at the forefront of the society.
