Balakrishna gears up to play the 1st century ad Satavahana ruler,
Gautamiputra Satakarni
, director Krishh has the arduous task of recreating the era ahead of him. And he's leaving no stone unturned to ensure that it's done as authentically as possible. 'Everything, right from the costumes and jewellery to the sets, will have to reflect the Satavahana period.
Krish is working closely with historians and research scholars who are experts on the period, to help recreate the life and times of Gautamiputra Satakarni. In fact, the department of archaeology is also being consulted to ensure the detailing is authentic,' says a source from the film's unit, adding, 'The filmmakers are currently in the process of finalising
Balakrishna
's look.'
The highlight of the film will be the elaborate sets. 'Five major sets will be erected, where key segments of the film will be shot. one of the most magnificent sets will be that of Amaravati, which will be a prime location for the film's plot.'
Gautamiputra Satakarni will also be shot in some exotic locations in Morocco. 'Some important battle sequences will be shot in Morocco. The makers zeroed in on the African nation because they felt the set-up they need is impossible to recreate in India,' the source says.
