Aravind Swamy to play MGR in Jayalalitha Biopic

Actor Aravind Swamy who has mesmerised the country with his acting in Roja and Bombay is now playing a pivotal role in the Jayalalitha biopic starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role.

Aravind Swamy will be seen in the role of Maruthur Gopala Ramachandran aka MGR in the film. Jayalalithaa joined the AIADMK when MGR was the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. She later went on to become the leader of the party and the state after his death. As the character of MGR has phenomenal importance in the life of Jayalalithaa, the film’s unit has decided Aravind Swamy is the ideal actor to play it.

The film which will be directed by AL Vijay will kick start its regular shooting from November. Written by Vijayendra Prasad, the film will be presented in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. Vishnu Induri and Shailesh Singh are producing the biopic.
