AR Rahman still on board for Ram Charan's 'RC16' amidst stepping down rumours

Ram Charan is currently gearing up for his next project, tentatively titled 'RC16', which is touted to be a sports drama film directed by Buchi Babu Sana. There have been rumours circulating about music composer AR Rahman stepping away from the project.

As per a report by Pinkvilla it has been confirmed that Rahman will indeed be composing the music for 'RC16'. This news has put to rest any speculation regarding a change in the film's musical direction.

Ram Charan has reportedly transformed his physique for the role. Additionally, reports suggest that the film may be titled 'Peddi', which aligns with a storyline set in a specific period in Uttarandhra. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the title or plot details from the filmmakers or actors involved.

This upcoming film marks Ram Charan's first collaboration with Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor, who has already made her mark in South Indian cinema with her role in the 2024 film 'Devara', alongside Jr NTR. Alongside them, veteran actor Shiva Rajkumar is also expected to play a significant role in the movie.

There have been rumors about Bollywood superstar Salman Khan potentially making a cameo appearance in 'RC16'. Given his cordial relationship with both Ram Charan and his father, Chiranjeevi, discussions are reportedly ongoing for this special appearance.

On the other hand, Ram Charan's latest release, 'Game Changer', directed by Shankar, opened to much anticipation on January 10, 2025. The film features Charan in dual roles and has received mixed reviews from critics. Despite an impressive opening weekend, box office collections have seen a decline in subsequent weeks.
