Santosh Sobhan is excitedly looking forward to the release of his next film, Anni Manchi Sakunamule. “I got the opportunity to let loose and portray a free-spirited youngster, Rishi. It is a character that’s nothing like me. Yet, I had an absolute blast playing that role,” says the actor.

Playing Rishi helped him loosen up as a person, says the actor. “We often talk about living in the moment, but very few of us truly do. Rishi is someone who always wants everyone around him to be happy. I think he embodies a little bit of Nandini (Reddy, the director of the film),” he says adding, “Playing this role has helped me cultivate a more lighthearted persona.”

Just being on the set was an incredible learning experience says the actor. “Ever since I watched Ala Modalaindi, I have eagerly desired to collaborate with Nandini. I grew up admiring the work of Rajendra Prasad and Sowcar Janaki. Being on set with them was like immersing myself in the finest aspects of cinema. Additionally, working with Malvika was delightful,” he affirms, adding, “I’ve never quite seem a family entertainer like this one. It will evoke the comforting nostalgia of a cherished summer memory.”

Produced by Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt under Swapna Cinema, Anni Manchi Sakunamule releases today in cinemas.
