Anand Deverakonda shares his early memories of watching Mahesh Babu starrer 'Pokiri'

Puri Jagannadh’s blockbuster hit 'Pokiri', featuring Mahesh Babu and Ileana D’Cruz has been one of the most successful films in the industry. The film, which hit theatres on April 28, 2006, continues to generate nostalgia among fans as they still enjoy the film after almost two decades of its release. Not only fans but other actors including prominent figures like actor Anand Deverakonda, brother of Vijay Deverakonda the film brings joy watching Mahesh Babu.



In a touching moment of reflection, Anand took to X to share a still of Mahesh from 'Pokiri', capturing a scene where the actor is seen running with intense determination. Recalling his childhood memories, Anand reminisced about attempting to mimic Mahesh's iconic running style in the school corridors, something shared by many youngsters at the time.



He emphasized that it wasn't just about the physical movements but the raw intensity and suppressed anger in Mahesh's eyes that made the running style truly iconic. Anand also fondly remembered the widespread craze surrounding the character of Konark in Dilsukhnagar, showing the film's enduring impact.



'Pokiri' tells the gripping tale of an undercover police officer infiltrating the mafia to dismantle the underworld. The film's massive success led to its remakes in Tamil as 'Pokkiri' starring Vijay Thalapathy and in Hindi as 'Wanted' starring Salman Khan. Even after all these years, 'Pokiri' remains one of the highest-grossing Telugu films.
