Amar Akbar Anthony preview: This masala entertainer sees Ravi Teja in three avatars
Sreenu Vaitla’s upcoming film ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ starring Ravi Teja and Ileana in lead roles is slated for release on November 16.
Featuring music by Thaman S, the film’s promotional material has all been received well, including the recently released trailer that has been trending on YouTube, raking in millions of views. The film that will see Ravi Teja essay the roles of three men Amar, Akbar and Anthony and Ileana play a woman named Mother Theresa, sees the return of the latter to Telugu cinema after six long years.
Claiming that she has not quit Tollywood to pursue films in Bollywood, Ileana reportedly clarified that it was only lack of time and exciting offers that kept her away all these years. She also revealed that she got the offer for ‘Barfi’, her Bollywood debut, while shooting for ‘Julayi’ and that she had okayed the script after speaking to director Trivikram. While nothing much is known about the film’s story, reports state that the film will be set in the US across two seasons and that the conflict between the characters in the film will be one to watch out for. While many of Sreenu Vaitla’s previous films have relied on situational comedy, the upcoming film seems to fall in the category of a serious entertainer judging by the trailer. The trailer also seems to indicate that the film will consist of all the elements of a masala entertainer.
The film that has been extensively shot in the US also stars Srinivas Reddy, Raghu Babu, Jayaprakash Reddy, Tanikella Bharani, Satya, Vennala Kishore, Ravi Prakash, Tarun Arora, Aditya Menon, Abhimanyu Singh, Vikramjit, Rajveer Singh, Shiyaji Shinde and Subhalekha Sudhakar in key roles.
