Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' song 'Dammunte Pattukora' pulled after release amid controversy over bold lyrics

The song 'Dammunte Pattukora' from Allu Arjun starrer 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' has been removed from social media platforms shortly after its release, leading to online discussion and controversy. Released by T-Series on December 24, the track features music composed by Devi Sri Prasad and lyrics penned by director Sukumar. The song features a tense confrontation between the film's protagonist, Pushpa (played by Allu Arjun), and police officer Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat (Fahadh Faasil).

The lyrics of 'Dammunte Pattukora' include bold lines such as "If you've got the guts, catch me, Shekhawat!" and "If you catch me, I’ll abandon the syndicate". Although the song received appreciation from the fans. The song's timing with Allu Arjun's ongoing legal troubles related to a tragic stampede that occurred during the film's premiere on December 4, which resulted in the death of a woman named Revathi.

Following the release, the song quickly gained attention for its bold lyrics and the implications they carried in light of Allu Arjun's real-life situation. Many netizens expressed mixed reactions online, with some praising the song while others criticized its timing given the actor's current legal issues. Recognizing the potential for further controversy, T-Series decided to take down the song shortly after its release.

'Pushpa 2', which co-stars Rashmika Mandanna, has been performing well at the box office since its theatrical release on December 5, despite facing competition from other films. Completing 21 days at the box office the film has made over Rs 1100 crore in India making history as the highest grossing film.
