On the occasion of
Allu Arjun’s 36th birthday in 2019, Dil Raju & Co have officially announced their fourth collaboration with the Stylish Star and the project has been titled as
ICON
. To be directed by
Venu Sriram of ‘MCA’ fame, the film was expected to go on floors once Arjun was done with ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’. However, due to unknown reasons, the project was kept on hold and the ‘Arya’ star joined forces with Sukumar for the rustic actioner ‘
Pushpa
’ which is all set to go on floors soon.
After quite some time, ICON is back in news again. During a latest interaction with a TV channel, director Venu Sriram who is presently helming ‘
Vakeel Saab
’ with
Pawan Kalyan confirmed that his much-anticipated project with Allu Arjun is still on cards and he is in touch with Bunny occasionally. He added that once they are done with their present commitments, they will decide on the status of the film.
Meanwhile, after wrapping up Pushpa, Allu Arjun will team up with Koratala Siva for a big-budget multilingual film, popularly referred to as AA21. The latest revelation by Sriram has led to speculations that ICON will be the 22nd film of the Stylish Star. In the title poster, he can be seen travelling on his bike and it looks like the film's story is about him and his stolen bike.
Speaking about his latest directorial Vakeel Saab, Venu Sriram said “Vakeel Saab is a social drama which talks about moralising, judgement and outright physical harm that women face. It cannot be churned into an out & out commercial entertainer. However, staying true to the original script, we’ve made certain changes to suit Pawan Kalyan’s body language. His characterisation will surely strike the right chord with both fans and common audience. I am eagerly waiting for the film to hit the theaters in early 2021.”
