Tollywood star Allu Arjun who is currently gearing up for the release of his highly awaited 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' was expected to make a grand appearance at the ongoing IFFI event in Goa, where he was slated to close the festival alongside Rashmika Mandanna. However, recent reports suggest that the actor dropped out.
According to the sources, he made a last-minute decision where he had to drop out of the event. The 'Pushpa' actor was supposed to attend and close the event alongside his co-star Radhmika Mandanna and director Sukumar but had to leave them to represent 'Pushpa 2' at the event.
It is learnt that Allu Arjun had to go back to Hyderabad as he had to watch the second half of the film with release only a week away the actor apparently has cancelled one more event in Bengaluru.
When asked about his absence, Rashmika Mandanna said, "Allu Arjun is busy in Hyderabad as there is a lot of work going on. Sukumar sir, Allu Arjun sir, and DSP are all involved, and the film is in its final stages. I am representing them, and I hope I do a good job."
The actress Shriya Saran, along with Vikrant Massey, and Amal Malik are also set to take the stage for the closing ceremony. Shriya will showcase various dance forms of India under the theme "Rhythms of India," topping her performance with the vibrant number "Desh Mera Rangeela." Music director Amal Malik will also perform the songs he has composed.
Additionally, the musical team of 'Bandish Bandits' will be performing at the ceremony. The event will also see the presence of Subhash Ghai, Ashutosh Gowariker, Dil Raju, and Ramesh Sippy.
The reason for Allu Arjun's last-minute withdrawal from the IFFI event in Goa has not been available yet. However, it is known that he is currently focused on promoting his upcoming film, 'Pushpa 2: The Rule'. The film, directed by Sukumar and set to release in a week on December 5, 2024.
The makers recently announced that the editing of the film is now complete sharing a picture of the director from the editing room.
Allu Arjun has been touring various states to promote this highly anticipated sequel with his co-star Rashmika Mandanna. The promotional campaign for 'Pushpa 2' has been extensive. Earlier the makers held two events in Patna and Chennai and a recent event was held in Kochi and plans for further promotions in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.
Allu Arjun will reprise his role as Pushpa Raj alongside Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli and Fahadh Faasil as the antagonist Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.
