Allu Arjun faces heat in Telangana: Congress MLA warns ‘Pushpa 2’ star over CM Revanth Reddy comments

Tollywood superstar Allu Arjun has found himself at the center of a political controversy in Telangana. Congress MLA R Bhoopathi Reddy issued a stern warning to the ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ actor, cautioning him against making any critical remarks about Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. The MLA from Nizamabad (Rural) stated on Tuesday that Allu Arjun’s films would not be allowed to run in Telangana if he continued his alleged criticism of the CM.

According to Hindustan Times, the MLA further accused Allu Arjun of lacking a substantial contribution to Telangana despite residing in the state. "You are from Andhra and came here to live. Be cautious when speaking about our Chief Minister," Bhoopathi Reddy asserted. He also remarked that the Pushpa franchise glorifies a smuggler's life and does little to benefit society.




Bhoopathi Reddy emphasized that Congress has historically supported the Telugu film industry by allotting land for its growth in Hyderabad. However, he warned the actor to "mend his ways" and refrain from controversial remarks.

This controversy stems from a previous incident in which a woman tragically lost her life, and her son was injured during a screening of ‘Pushpa 2’. CM Revanth Reddy criticized Allu Arjun for allegedly organizing a procession at the theatre, a claim the actor has refuted. Allu Arjun clarified that it was neither a roadshow nor a procession and called the incident a tragic accident while maintaining he was not against any political leader or department.

In another incident, Congress MLC Chintapandu Naveen, known as Theenmar Mallanna, filed a formal complaint with the Rachakonda Police against Allu Arjun, director Sukumar, and the film’s producers. The complaint alleges that certain scenes in Pushpa 2 disrespectfully portray police officers, sparking outrage.

As tensions escalate, the challenges surrounding Pushpa 2: The Rule continue to grow. On the last day, Allu Arjun was questioned by the Hyderabad police for over three hours.
