ANR died: Legendary actor
Akkineni Nageswara Rao ( ANR), who is battling with cancer, passed away here on Wednesday. The Dada Saheb Phalke Award winner died in the early hours in Hyderabad today. He was 91. Sources say that ANR���s condition worsened at around 1.30 am Wednesday and he was rushed to hospital where he died. The actor is survived by three daughters and two sons.
The 90-year-old actor, who made his acting debut with Telugu film Sitarama Jananam in 1944, had starred in 250 Telugu films, apart from working in Tamil films.
He established Annapurna studios and his son Nagarjuna, daughter-in-law Amala and several grandsons followed in ANR's footsteps to turn actors. ANR as also was honoured with India's second highest civilian award Padma Vibhushan and Padma Shri.
He is currently shooting for Telugu family drama Manam with son Akkineni Nagarjuna and grandson Akkineni Naga Chaitanya
