Akkineni Nagarjuna talks about spin-off for his character Anish Shetty from 'Brahmastra'

Akkineni Nagarjuna has a sizable fan base across the country, thanks to both his successful films and his distinctive and compassionate nature. The ace actor has recently been toasting the success of his film 'Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva', which was released last week in theatres. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the 63-year-old actor revealed a spin-off featuring his character named Anish Shetty, an artist and an archaeologist who is a member of the Brahmansh and wielded the Nandi Astra.

He told Pinkvilla, "We haven’t discussed, I’ll be honest. We never discussed anything about that. I guess Ayan must be still writing he has to do (part) two right. Where does he have time to do spin-offs now? (But) It will be nice, why not, if it works."


'Brahmastra', which is said to be the costliest Hindi film with a budget pegged at over Rs 400 crore, earned Rs 75 crore to be its first-day global box office collection! The film was released in Hindi as well as in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam with King Nagarjuna as a local attraction and the 'Baahubali' and 'RRR' director S.S. Rajamouli helped to promote the film. It stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy. The next part of the trilogy is titled 'Brahmastra Part Two: Dev'.
