'Acharya' is the first movie in which Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan will be seen together in full-fledged roles. For the unversed, Chiru and Ram Charan were seen sharing screen space with each other in SS Rajamouli’s Magadheera and Sreenu Vaitla’s Bruce Lee: The Fighter. But they were Chiru’s cameos. 'Acharya' is not the regular action drama. It is tipped to be a commercial drama with a streak of a revolutionary theme. While little is known about the film’s story, what we do know is that it is about a Naxalite of the same name. It is said to be the story of a village youth who fights against the goons who have encroached their temple’s farmlands. Although the plot of 'Acharya' is a serious one, the trailer and promos of the film showed that it will have a lot of funny moments as well.

Ram Charan and Pooja worked together in the song "Jigel rani" from the film "Rangasthalam". The very talented duo makes a comeback on the silver screen after a long hiatus.
